An attempted robbery at a residence in Primrose, yesterday afternoon, has left one man dead and another critically injured.

ER24 paramedics arrived at the residence, located on Coral road, and found local authorities already in attendance. Upon closer inspection, paramedics found one man lying in the road while another lay in the driveway. Both men were believed to be in their 20s.

Paramedics assessed the men and found that one had sustained numerous gunshot wound and showed no signs of life. Nothing more could be done for the man and he was declared dead on the scene.

The second man was assessed and found to be in a critical condition, having sustained numerous gunshot wounds.

Paramedics treated the man and provided him with advanced life support interventions. Once treated, the man was transported to a nearby hospital for further treatment.

It is understood that several armed men had entered the property. The homeowner then apparently opened fire on the men. Local authorities will be investigating further.
