23 Jun 2017, Isipingo, Kwa-Zulu Natal: Three armed suspects with balaclavas and hoodies held up the operations manager of a company on Ally Road, Isipingo at about 7:25 am this morning. The suspects confronted the victim as he drove into the company parking bay in a Toyota Hilux Double Cab 2017 model.
They held him at gunpoint. One suspect acted as a lookout, one suspect stood guard over the victim whilst one suspect steered the vehicle. The suspects fled with the vehicle and the victim was uninjured but visibly shaken.
The Alpha Alarms Control Room received a panic signal from the client and responded within minutes. Alpha Response Units and Isipingo SAPS members attempted to pursue the suspects but lost sight of them in the chaotic CBD.
The vehicle has not been recovered and was taken with the victim's wallet and laptop. A businessman was also hijacked of his Toyota Hilux vehicle last Thursday morning on Ally Road by three armed suspects.
He was taken with the vehicle and dropped off in Umlazi. Business owners in the area are urged to be on high alert and ensure that the necessary security measures are in place to safeguard themselves and their employees.
Alpha Alarms Response Units have a strong presence in the area due to the recent spike in crime in the area.
