SAPS NEWS LIMPOPO: News: Four (4) Suspects Arrested for Various Cases, Including Murder

In a concerted effort to deal with all categories of crime throughout the Province, the Intelligence led joint operations are still producing positive results.
During these operations which were conducted this week, four suspects aged between 24 and 42 were arrested for murder, attempted murder and possession of unlicensed firearms in the Tzaneen, Senwabarwana and Hoedspruit policing areas.
It is alleged that two suspects have on 17 March
2019 at around 23h00, intruded in the Rheiland building at Senwabarwana outside Polokwane. The security officers spotted the pair and called for assistance from his colleagues. Before anything could be stolen, the suspects then started to shoot randomly at the officers while fleeing from the scene.
A team of investigators followed the information received until the pair was arrested in different places. During the arrest, one (01) rifle and two (02) explosives were recovered.
Meanwhile, in the Hoedspruit policing area outside Phalaborwa, the police arrested two suspects involved in two separate criminal incidents in the area.
Following information received, a 24-year-old man was arrested for murder committed on 27 March 2019 during the day. It is alleged that the suspect stabbed a 24 year-old man to death with a sharp instrument during a fight in a farm outside Hoedspruit.
Whereas, a 42-year-old suspect was also arrested when the Police were following information about three (03) suspects who committed a house robbery driving in a car.
The joint operation composed of various Police Units together with the Farm Watch, spotted the vehicle and a chase ensued until the suspects stopped their vehicle and fled on foot. One suspect was then nabbed while two others managed to escape. Police manhunt for the remaining suspects continues.
During this arrest, four (04) Plasma TVs, clothes, bed-covers, two (02) laptops, one (01) cell phone, wallets with bank cards, balaclava, one (01) firearm and six (06) live ammunition were recovered in car which is believed to be stolen. The origin of this car will be determined by the ongoing Police investigations. The arrested suspects will appear before various magistrates’ court soon.
The Acting Provincial Commissioner of the South African Police Service in Limpopo, Major General Jan Scheepers has commended members of the South African Police Service in Limpopo, specifically the operational wing and other role players on their continuous efforts to eradicate criminal activities throughout the Province, especially in the crime infested areas.
