25 Jan 2018, Kwa-Zulu Natal: SAPS EThekwini Central Cluster Trio Task Team members arrested two suspects on 24 January 2017 for possession of dangerous weapons.

Police were conducting an operation aimed at preventing criminal activities in the area especially on the highways. Suspects were spotted leaning over the Queen Nandi Drive-Inanda Road bridge carrying a rock.

When police pounced on them, they were found in possession of a knife, gloves and a rock. Suspects were immediately arrested and taken to Greenwood Park police station for detention. They are appearing at the Durban Magistrates’ Court today.

KwaZulu-Natal Acting Provincial Commissioner, Major General Bheki Langa commended the task team members for the arrest. “We will continue to fight rock-throwing incidents in the province to protect all the motorists. Highway patrols have been intensified and Visible Policing members are always visible in the area to search and apprehend all suspected criminals,” he said.
