7 May 2018, Cape Town: The City of Cape Town says motorists can now settle warrants of arrests issued to them due to failure to pay a traffic fine on their online platform.
In the past, warrants of arrests could only be settled by appearing in court and paying the fine or sending a cheque to the traffic services.
Mayoral Committee Member for Safety and Security, JP Smith, explains the new process: "Since mid-April, the traffic service has been testing the online payment of warrants on the pay city platform."
"Motorists can register on the website and find a list of all outstanding fines, including those in warrant status. Once they accept and agree to the admission of guilt pop up screen, they will then receive a receipt and a warrant recall form via email."
