3 People Were Injured, 1 Critically, In Crash Involving Bakkie & Car On R33, Kzn

Three people were left injured this afternoon, one of them critically, following a collision between a bakkie and light motor vehicle on the R33 in Crammond, KwaZulu Natal.

ER24 Paramedics, along with other services, arrived on the scene at 13h37 to find the two wrecked vehicles in the middle of the road.

A man, believed to be in his 50s, was found lying trapped inside his light motor vehicle. Rescue services had to use

specialised rescue equipment to free the man from a vehicle, an operation lasting 30 minutes.

Once freed, paramedics found that the man had sustained numerous injuries and was in a critical condition. The two other patients were found with moderate injuries.

The patients were treated for their injuries, and the critically injured man provided with advanced life support interventions, before they were transported to nearby hospitals for further care.

Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
