10 YEAR OLD BOY IN SERIOUS CONDITION AFTER HE WAS KNOCKED OVER BY A BAKKIE, KZN

A 10-year-old boy was left seriously injured this morning when he was knocked over by a bakkie on the Slangspruit Road in Mbali, KwaZulu Natal.

When ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene, they found the child lying on the pavement while the bakkie was found 20 metres down the road.

Paramedics assessed the child and found that he was in a serious condition, having sustained serious injuries to his legs and face.



Paramedics treated the child and provided him with advanced life support interventions, and thereafter transported him to Edendale Provincial Hospital for further assessment.

The driver of the bakkie was assessed and found to have escaped injury.

Local authorities were on the scene to investigate the cause of the collision.
