5 Sep 2017, Stellenbosch, Western Cape: A man was left critically injured on Monday morning when he apparently fell off a train along the Adam Tas Road in Stellenbosch, Western Cape. ER24 paramedics, along with the Metro Services, arrived on the scene and found the man lying on the side of the railroad tracks.

The man was assessed and found to have sustained a serious head injury and was in a critical condition.

The man was treated for his injuries and provided with advanced life support interventions.



Once treated, paramedics drove the man to a nearby rugby field where they met with the AMS Medical helicopter.

The man was airlifted to the Groote Schuur Hospital for urgent care. Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
