9 Mar 2018, Harrismith: On Wednesday 7 March 2018 at about 18h30 members of Harrismith Highway Patrol arrested two suspects on the N3 for Possesion of Dagga and Bribery.
The suspects were travelling in a Toyota Hilux Bakkie from Ladysmith to Orange Farm when officers instructed them to stop. They had 312kg of dagga to the value of R405,600-00 on the back of the bakkie.
The suspects offered the two Officers Bribe money and gave the officers R2500.00 cash. The suspects were arrested on the spot.
Second & Third Bribery Attempt:
While driving to the station, the suspects attempted another bribe and offered the two Officers R20,000-00 and when that attempt failed they offered R50,000-00 in bribe money.
The two suspects were booked, the vehicle and R2500 cash was seized and handed in for safekeeping. Well Done!!!
