South African Police Service | Western Cape | NARI

10 Mar 2018, Lavender Hill, Cape Town: Steenberg police enhanced their visibility in their area, following sporadic shootings in Lavender Hill, by conducting crime prevention patrols. Their dedication paid off yesterday after they followed up on information they received about illegal activity at a house at Fawley Court, Lavender Hill.

Police members searched the house and found 73 9mm live rounds of ammunition and a magazine. They seized the ammunition and magazine and arrested three men, aged 27, 29 and 34, as well as a 43 year old woman, for illegal possession of ammunition.

The suspects will appear in the Wynberg Magistrate’s Court on Monday 12 March 2018 on a charge of illegal possession of ammunition.

Police will continue to participate in efforts to address the causes of crime in the province by removing illegal firearms and ammunition from communities, and bringing offenders to justice.
