A 22-year-old woman and a 19-year-old man have been arrested and charged with hijacking following a vehicle which was hijacked in the early hours of Saturday, 12 January 2019. The owner of a white VW Polo hatch back alleged that at about 04:00, he gave two males and a female a lift from Kuruman CBD to Seoding village. While they were driving in
the direction of Seoding Village, the female suspect asked the driver to stop as she wanted to urinate. The male suspects also climb out of the vehicle after the driver stopped to allow the female suspect to urinate. They attacked the driver and sped-off with his vehicle. The vehicle was later found abandoned at about 09:00 in Batlharos village, Nanana Section. As they responded promptly to the call, they were led to the tuck-shop shop that the suspects had attempted to rob at gun-point.
The suspects fled the scene after realising that their endeavours to robbery does not succeed. They were seen getting into a get-away vehicle and drove into the bushes.
