These suspects allegedly entered the shop pretending to be customers and one of them produced a firearm and demanded money while others helped themselves to the cash and cigarettes.

During this robbery, a customer was also robbed off his cell phone and identity card before these suspects fled the scene with a green BMW.

The Police were notified and reacted swiftly and subsequently, the suspects were cornered and arrested along the N1 road near the Baobab Toll Gate.

During the arrest, the following items were recovered:

• One (01) pump gun
• Six (06) live ammunition
• One (01) revolver firearm with three (3) ammunition
• Six (06) Cell phones
• One (01) Isuzu double cab

During further investigations, it is believed that the arrested suspects might also be linked to the smuggling of stolen vehicles from South Africa into Zimbabwe.

All the arrested suspects will appear before Musina and Louis Trichardt Magistrate courts soon. The Acting Provincial Commissioner Major General Jan Scheepers has applauded the excellent job done by the Men and Women in blue in the Makhado Cluster led by the Cluster Commander Brigadier Eddie Van Der Waldt.
