SA POLICE WARNING: Women Warned Not to Fall Victim to Latest Scam

SAPS | Kwa-Zulu Natal | NARI
7 Nov 2018, KwaZulu Natal:

Media Statement issued by the KwaZulu-Natal Media Centre
Corporate Communication and Liaison
South African Police Service

Police in KwaZulu-Natal are making an appeal to women in the province to be alert at all times and not fall victim to con men who target them for their hard-earned money. There are criminals who target older, widowed or divorced women, pretending to be attracted to have a relationship with them. They would then influence them to resign from their employment

for better investment opportunities or convince them to consult a ‘traditional doctor’ who assists with multiplying cash using ‘black magic’. Women had fallen victim to such modus operandi and it is not easy to investigate cases where there has been an agreement in the exchange of cash in a romantic relationship. Women are warned to be vigilant at all times and not to trust anyone with their life savings.
