18 May 2017, Gauteng: A task team investigating the spate of female deaths in Gauteng, especially in Soweto, is still searching for more suspects believed to be linked in the murders.

Three men have been arrested thus far and are expected to appear in the Protea Magistrate's Court on Thursday.

This comes after 24-year-old Popi Qwabe was found murdered in Naledi on Friday, while her friend Bongeka Phungula, was also found dead in neighbouring Tladi on Saturday.

Another female body, which has not been identified was found at a dumping site in Mofolo on Sunday.

Police spokesperson Lungelo Dlamini says teams will be working tirelessly to apprehend the perpetrators.

“The task team that has been appointed to deal with these cases believes that there are more suspects that are involved. They will be working around the clock to make sure that all the perpetrators are arrested and appear in court in connection with these cases.”

Two other suspects appeared in court on Wednesday in connection with the death of a fourth woman, Lerato Moloi.

Her half naked body was found in Naledi in Soweto on Sunday.
