16 Dec 2017, Fordsburg: JMPD K9 Unit intercepted heavily armed suspects in a white Kia car shortly after 2pm on Friday 15 December 2017 after officers had received a tip-off that the suspects were on their way to rob a business in Fordsburg.

The suspects made a u turn on Henry Nxmalo Street when they realised that they were being followed and the officers chased them to the Westgate Transport Hub where four suspects jumped out of the Kia.

Officers managed to Arrest three (3) suspects and recovered two AK47 machine guns, two rifles and one pistol. One male suspect managed to escaped.

The suspects are likely to appear in Johannesburg Magistrates Court next week to face charges of possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition and will be an investigation to see if they are possibly linked to other crimes.
