7 Mar 2018, Gauteng: Gauteng: Intelligence driven policing pays off once more in Gauteng.

Today, 07 March 2018, Police received information about suspects believed to be involved in a series of robberies.

According to information, the suspects were already at Kayalami Corner Shopping Centre, driving a silver BMW.

An operation was launched and while on their way to Kyalami, police noticed the vehicle driving past them. The police members made a u-turn and followed the suspects.



The suspects, upon noticing the police, sped off and a chase ensued causing the suspects' vehicle to crash at the corners of Woodmead and Waterfall Drive at Waterfall in Sandton.

The suspects attempted to run away however swift action by police resulted in four of them being arrested. Two firearms with the serial numbers erased, were confiscated.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the vehicle used by the suspects was stolen.

The suspects were charged with possession of unlicensed firearms and possession of a stolen vehicle. Investigation is underway and the suspects will be profiled in order to establish if they can be linked to any other crimes.
