SAPS NEWS: MAN (48) WERE ABDUCTED, RANSOM DEMANDED FROM HIS WIFE, MAN SEVERELY ASSAULTED

16 March 2017, Kwazakele: On 15 March 2017 at about 20h30 an abduction took place at Koyana Street in Kwazakele.

A 48-year-old male, who is a Tavern owner in Motherwell and living in Zwide, was having a braai at a house in Koyana Street, when four males forced him into a red minibus and sped off.

By 21h00 a ransom amount was demanded from his wife by the suspects. She paid the money in at 09h00 this morning as instructed, but they then demanded more money.



She then went to the Kwazakele Police Station at 14h30 to report what had happened.

By 16h15 the 48-year-old victim was found on the Perseverance Road, Perseverance, severely assaulted.

He was taken to Uitenhage Provincial Hospital where he was admitted for medical treatment.
