Cape Town: South Africa has one of the worst road accident rates in the world and unfortunately, the number of fatalities on our roads seems to increase every year.
The Road Traffic Management Corporation (RTMC) has released its list of South Africa’s most dangerous roads. The list is based purely on statistics.
The Southafrican.com reports that according to the Automobile Association (AA) the death toll on our roads increased by nine percent in 2016 to its highest number since 2007.
According to the AA 14 071 people died on our roads last year compared to 14 290 in 2007.
Statistics show that most fatal accidents occur in the evening between 19:00 and 22:00.
