22 Jul 2017, Gauteng: The Road Traffic Management Corporation (RTMC) says the pair were arrested in connection with bribery involving R9000.
RTMC spokesperson Simon Zwane says: "Two compliance inspectors were arrested. They will be charged under the Anti-Corruption Act. They issued roadworthy documents without inspecting the vehicles."
Their arrests follow a complaint from a scholar transport operator. Zwane says the RTMC has identified "problematic" licensing and vehicle testing centres across the country, in a bid to clamp down on corruption.
