SABC News Western Cape | Western Cape | NARI

7 Jan 2018, Cape Town: Traffic officials in the Western Cape are on high alert as traffic volumes pick up on both the N-One and N-Two highways towards Cape Town.

Traffic Chief Kenny Africa says several roadblock have been set up on the notorious stretch between Laingsburg and Beaufort West.

Africa is urging motorists to respect one another and rules of the road...

"Lots of taxis are leaving cape town towards the Eastern Cape, and lots of them are coming back from the Eastern Cape to Cape Town, and our officers are busy, they are 24 hours around the clock stopping these taxis, making sure that they are roadworthy; making sure that the drivers are not tired because fatigue normally takes it toll this time of the year."
