THE CITY OF CAPE TOWN SAYS IT WILL ACTIVATE ITS DISASTER OPERATIONS CENTRE IN GOODWOOD
SABC News Western Cape | Western Cape | NARI

28 Jan 2018, Cape Town: The City of Cape Town says it will activate its disaster operations centre in Goodwood near Cape Town to coordinate efforts aimed at preparing for Day Zero, when taps are expected to run dry. Residents will collect water at 200 distribution points around the city.

Deputy mayor Ian Nielson says they will continue to encourage citizens to stick to 50 litres per person per day to avoid Day Zero on the 12th of April.

Mayoral committee member on safety and security JP Smith says should the day arrive, the city will be ready to deliver water to residents.
