20 Nov 2017, Cape Town: During the past weekend, a Mango Airlines flight, Flight JE-147, were forced to land after a vulture caused severe engine damage moments after take-off.

The incident happened moments after take-off, on a flight between Johannesburg and Cape Town. According to a passenger, Bertus Muller, there was a loud noise, the plane started shaking and there was a sudden smell of smoke inside cabin.

The pilot almost immediately turned the plane for landing at OR Tambo.
