29 Nov 2017, Cape Town: News, Accidents, Robberies & Incidents received information of an incident where two Metro Police Officers allegedly harassed two women.

Zuraan Jacobs turned to social media and posted videos of the incident. Read her story below (raw):

So last night myself and my female friend Nadia Jacobs was publicly harassed by two metro police "Constable Jas and Sergeant Mendu" who wanted to pull us over on the Bridge in Maitland 3rd Avenue while on route home.

I then drove to the nearest public point of which we felt safe "5th Avenue Sasol", never in my life have I ever been harassed by police! Please share this experience with everyone across all social media platforms!

I did nothing wrong, but this officer pulled me over for what he claims my brake lights aren't working prior to me taking these videos... he then changed his story from my break lights weren't working to my rear lights aren't working "clearly my break lights and rear lights were working, see video" he insisted on giving me a fine of which I was forced to accept the fine else he wouldn't let me go.

After he wrote me the fine he then forced me to take a breathalyzer test on the spot of which I refused as I did not have one ounce of Alcohol. At the end of this ordeal bystanders who came up told him that his harassing me and that he should stop.

He refused and then threatened to lock the man up who was a witness, Ive asked him countless times to show me his badge of which he totally ignored, he also did not give me a copy of my fine as well as hand back my temp drivers license.

Moral of the story cops like these think they can get away with doing this to women, but I'm here to expose what bad law enforcement services we get from this city that we pay taxes to. I thought police are here to protect and serve instead of harassing two females alone late at night.
