12 Aug 2017, Verulam, Kwa-Zulu Natal: The public is requested to be on the lookout for a grey Toyota Corolla Quest with registration number: NJ 77443. The vehicle was hijacked from Waterloo in Verulam on Friday evening.

At approximately 18h41 Reaction Officers & RUSA Medics were dispatched to the scene after receiving several calls from the public requesting medical assistance for a 22 year old Uber driver who had been shot multiple times during a hijacking incident.

Upon arrival it was established that the victim was on his way to pick up a client when he was boxed in by a silver/white unknown vehicle.

The occupants of the unknown vehicle then shot the victim three times, once in his abdomen a second time on his arm and a third bullet struck him on his leg and exited though his buttocks.



The suspects then fled the scene in the victim's vehicle. The victim managed to make his way on foot through a pathway before he sought assistance from members of the public on Python Road in Waterloo. Paramedics treated the man on scene before transporting him to hospital in a stable condition.
