BODY OF FEMALE STUDENT OF STELLENBOSCH FOUND AFTER HIJACKING ORDEAL

28 May 2017, Cape Town: The body of 21 year old Hannah Cornelius, a student at the Stellenbosch University, was found on Krorhoek road outside Stellenbosch.

This follows after two students were hijacked on Friday night.

It's believed that the two students, a male and a female, were hijacked in Bird Street on Friday night.

The male victim managed to escape in the vacinity of Kraaifontein.


The body that was found on Saturday morning, matched the description of Hannah, her parents were informed.

Western Cape Police spokesperson Noloyiso Rwexana confirmed that two cases of attempted murder and hijacking are under investigation.

Rwexana said that "the body of a female, about 21 years old, was found this morning at about 08h30 on Krorhoek road".

It appears that the male student who managed to escape, suffered severe injuries during the incident and was rushed to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.

The VW Citi Golf that was used in the hijacking, were recovered.

Two suspects in their thirties have been arrested for being in possession of the hijacked vehicle.

The 2 suspects will appear in the Stellenbosch Magistrates court on Monday. Police investigation continues.
