BURGLARS DUG TUNNEL INTO BANK IN FORDSBURG EARLY HOURS OF WEDNESDAY MORNING, FLED EMPTY HANDED

2 May 2018, Fordsburg, Johannesburg: Al Baraka Bank has confirmed an attempted break-in at it's Fordsburg Branch.

According to the bank's Chief Operating Officer, Mr Mohammed Kaka, an attempt was made to break into the Johannesburg-based branch during the early hours of Wednesday morning.

Commenting, Mr Kaka said: "We are in a position to confirm that thieves attempted to breach our Fordsburg Branch on 02 May. However, the attempt failed as indication are that they were disturbed and fled.

No further comment may be made at the present time as the SAPS is conducting an investigation into the attempted break-in. The bank is co-operating with the police in this regard."
