A DRIVER OF A BAKKIE WAS INJURED AFTER COLLIDING INTO THE BACK OF A BROKEN DOWN TRUCK

25 March 2017, Klerksdorp: Earlier this morning, just after 01:00, TP02 responded to a Motor Vehicle Accident about 30km outside Wolmaransstad towards Klerksdorp, on the N12 - North West.

Upon arrival, Paramedics found a bakkie that collided into the back of a truck, which broke down on the N12 and was partially in the road.

The driver was entrapped in the vehicle and Wolmaransstad Fire Department had to use technical extrication methods to free the patient, using various hydraulic equipment and the jaws of life.



TAC-Pulse ERS Paramedics, along with Bloemhof EMRS, continued care during the extrication process.

The patient was stabilized using Advanced Life Support interventions on scene prior to to transport to a local hospital.

Excellent teamwork by all involved.
