NEWLANDS - ELEVEN CHILDREN WERE INJURED THIS MORNING AS TAXI CRASHES THROUGH FENCE, KZN

21 Sep 2017, Newlands, Kwa-Zulu Natal: Twelve people were left injured this morning, including eleven primary school children, after a taxi crashed through a fence on the Newlands East Dive in the Newlands area, KwaZulu Natal.

ER24 paramedics, along with other services, arrived on the scene at approximately 07h20 to find that the taxi had come to a stop in a business garden.

The occupants had already climbed out of the vehicle and were found walking around on the scene.

Paramedics assessed the patients and found that the eleven children and an adult had all sustained minor injuries in this incident.



The patients were treated for their injuries and were thereafter transported by various services to nearby hospitals for further treatment.

It is understood that the children had been on their way to school when this incident occurred. Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
