7 Feb 2018, Richards Bay, KwaZulu Natal: On Wednesday morning at 07H17 Netcare 911 responded to reports of a collision on the John Ross Highway, Richards Bay.

On arrival Paramedics from government ambulance services were already in attendance.

Reports from the scene indicate that two bakkies collided at the corners of John Ross Highway and the Richards Bay Industrial road causing both bakkies to overturn on the freeway.

One of the bakkies had been transporting approximately 10 school children all believed to be around the ages of 10-15 years old and the other bakkie was occupied by a single male driver.

All the patients had been treated on scene and have been transported by ambulances from both Netcare 911 and government services to hospital for further assessment and care.

The SAPS Richards Bay was on scene to conduct an investigation.
