15 PEOPLE WERE INJURED, 2 CRITICAL AFTER TAXI FULL OF CHURCHGOERS ROLLED ON M1 NORTH
Emer-G-Med

Fifteen people have been injured, two critically, after a taxi full of churchgoers lost control and rolled on the M1 North just after the Glenhove Road offramp, in Melrose - north of Johannesburg.

Just after 9am Emer-G-Med dispatched multiple resources to the scene. Paramedics arrived on the scene to find the occupants strewn across the highway, some having been ejected from the vehicle.

On assessment it was found that a one-year-old child and his mother, had sustained critical injuries - both requiring rapid Advanced Life Support intervention.

The two critically injured patients were rapidly stabilised before being rushed to a nearby specialist Trauma Hospital for further care.

The remaining 13 patients sustained injuries ranging from minor to moderate and were treated at the scene before being transported to various nearby facilities.

JMPD's specialist Accident Reconstruction Unit were at the scene to investigate the exact events leading up to the horror crash.
