12 Nov 2017, Krugersdorp: Four people were left injured this afternoon, two of them critically, when two light motor vehicles collided on Robert Broom Road in Krugersdorp, west of Johannesburg.

ER24 paramedics, along with other services, arrived on the scene at 16h16 to find both wrecked vehicles on the side of the road. Debris from both vehicles were spread across the road.

Upon closer inspection, paramedics discovered the body of one of the drivers, a man in his 30s, lying outside his vehicle. Three other people were found lying outside the second light motor vehicle.

Paramedics assessed the patients and found that both drivers had sustained critical injuries while the two remaining patients had sustained moderate injuries.

Once treated, one of the critically injured men was airlifted by the ER24 Oneplan Helicopter to a nearby private hospital for urgent care. The remaining three patients were transported by ambulance to nearby hospitals for further treatment.

The exact cause of the collision is not yet known but local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
