5 Apr 2018, Vereeniging: Two men have been killed and two other injured this afternoon following a vehicle rollover on the R59 in Ascot-on-Vaal.

ER24 Paramedics, along with Provincial Services, arrived on the scene to find a light motor vehicle lying on its roof some distance away from the road.

Upon closer inspection, paramedics discovered the bodies of two men, believed to be in their 20s, lying trapped beneath the overturned vehicle. Unfortunately, both men had already succumbed to their multiple injuries. Nothing could be done for them and they were declared dead.

Two other men were assessed on the scene. One had sustained minor injuries while the third was found to be in a critical condition.

Paramedics treated both patients and provided the critically injured man with advanced life support interventions.

Once treated, the critically injured man was airlifted to a nearby private hospital by the ER24 Oneplan Medical Helicopter. The other patient was transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital.

The exact details surrounding this incident are not yet known but local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
