Fire services had to use the jaws-of-life equipment to free the driver from the vehicle.
Once freed, paramedics found that the driver, a man in his 30s, had sustained critical injuries while the passenger, also a man in his 30s, had sustained serious injuries.
The driver of the truck was found to have sustained only minor injuries. Paramedics treated the patients and provided the two men with advanced life support interventions before they were transported to nearby hospitals for further treatment.
